THE COMPETITION BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 12TH 1954 WHEN INDIA BECAME THE FIRST ASIAN TEAM TO ADVANCE PAST THE PRELIMINARY ROUND OF THE TOURNAMENT.
India’s next opponent was Chinese team NPC Chuansha who defeated them in an exciting game where goals were scored at every interval of play during the match-up.
The first goal was scored by Zhang Chengyuan and the second goal was scored by Li Chengong during this game’s 1st period.
