CTRL Me by Anna Zabo
LGBTQ+ Contemporary Romance
After a breakup leaves Tom feeling down, his coworker and friend Gabe invites him out for a drink. But things take an unexpected turn when Tom realizes Gabe is interested in him and that he might be able to give Tom the dominance and rope play he craves. I jumped into CTRL Me right after getting it because I wanted and quick and easy read. Well I got that and so much more because I loved this sexy little story!
Tom is bisexual and has a serious kink for rope play and D/s but when he makes some suggestions about what he wants with his ex, she dumps and shames him. I felt so bad for Tom who is really down in the beginning of the book but things turn around quickly and Tom finds what he’s looking for in Gabe who he already had a crush on. I liked that Tom and Gabe already knew each other so there was an inherent trust and intimacy that had already been established. However, Tom is still fairly new to more extensive rope play so there’s still a nice build up in the relationship for them. Gabe is also a great character and I loved how he checked in with Tom to make sure he was ok and comfortable with everything they were doing. He was a natural protector and it was obvious how much he cared for Tom.
The chemistry just jumped off the page and I enjoyed watching Gabe and Tom explore each other and their mutual interests. These guys are so sweet with each other but at the same time they’re wonderfully dirty and I love it! I just wish this was longer so I could keep reading about them! This was my first book by Anna Zabo but it won’t be my last.

Hero with an abusive ex (referenced, off page)
A night out between friends turns hot and tempting when Gabe deliberately pushes Tom’s submissive buttons. Then Tom discovers rope in Gabe’s glove-box—and it’s not the type for securing luggage.
This ~14,000-word short story was originally published in the Rules to Live By anthology and has been lightly edited.
