I saw this tag on The Little Contemporary Corner and since I was just discussing something similar on Twitter, it seemed like fate.

Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
If I’m reading at home, then I’m sitting in the corner of my couch, snuggled with my blanket because I’m always cold and I’m using a pillow to prop my book or Kindle up. When I start to get tired, I’ll lay down on the couch and read.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
It varies but the key is that I don’t want anything that will easily fall out. I’ll usually stick with something for a long time and then change. For awhile I was using the library receipt as a bookmark, then I switched to post it notes because they never fall out, and now I’m using a bookmark that my graphic designer friend created.
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
I prefer to stop at the end of a chapter or a nice break in the story but that’s not always an option. Especially because I tend to read during the pauses of my life (work breaks, tv commercials, etc.) and that means I can’t always keep going, I just have to stop.
Do you eat or drink while reading?
I can but it’s not a part of my reading habit. For instance, I read in the mornings before work while I’m eating breakfast.
Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
I don’t mind music while I read but I won’t turn it on just because I’m reading. I won’t watch TV unless it’s something I’ve already seen and can pretty much ignore. I do read while my husband watches TV though.
One book at a time or several at once?
I try to only read one book at a time but I often fail at this. Sometimes it’s because I need a break from a book that’s not really working, or sometimes it’s because a new release I’ve been DYING to read comes out so I want to read it right away. More often than not it’s because I’m reading a physical book and I want to read before bed and the Kindle is easier for that.
Reading at home or everywhere?
Everywhere! Anywhere! Anytime!
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Silently. The only time I read out loud is if it’s something really boring but I’m required to read it so I need the sound of my voice to keep from falling asleep.
Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
I will sometimes skim if I’m losing interest or skip pages with sex scenes if they’re poorly written; no one likes awkward sex unless it’s meant to be funny. Otherwise I’ll try not to read ahead in a book but occasionally I’ll get really excited and glance further down the page to see what’s coming. Reading on my kindle has actually cut down on reading ahead.
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I am a horrible monster and I actually love breaking the spine on a new book. I don’t know why, I just find it so satisfying. #sorrynotsorry
Do you write in your books?
