Reading Review: October 2017

Month in Review

October was a great month for reading Science Fiction! I read a total of 15 books and feel like I’m making up for my slower reading in the beginning of the year.

FAVORITE BOOKS THIS MONTH

Antidote (Love and War #1)
by R.A. Steffan
My Review  •  Goodreads

Absolutely fantastic read and a great series debut! I loved the world building and all the characters were interesting and well developed. Hunter and Skye were a great couple and I appreciated their somewhat quick but well written romance. This was everything I love about science fiction romance.

Ash (Hell Squad #14) by Anna Hackett
My Review  •  Goodreads

I’m really loving these berserkers because Hemi and Ash have been fantastic books! Ash really had a depth to his character, he was so wonderful in how he handled Marin’s insecurities. Marin was tough but also realistic when confronted with real life battle. I also enjoyed the hints at other characters like Levi, Manu, and Selene.

Children of Scarabaeus (Scarabaeus #2) by Sara Creasy
My Review  •  Goodreads

I enjoyed getting more with Edie and Finn and finding our conclusion to the previous book, Song of Scarabaeus. I was pretty happy with how things turned out and enjoying seeing more cyphertecks. I just wish we had gotten some of Finn’s POV so we could better understand his feelings and thoughts.

Hooked (Fandom Hearts #1.5) by Cathy Yardley
My Review  •  Goodreads

I really enjoyed getting Stacey and Rodney’s story since we met them in Level Up. They both have pasts they’re trying to get distance from and even though Stacey is jaded from her last bad relationship, she’s still hopeful. I just wish this was longer so we could spend more time with these two.
