But can she trust him?

NO ESCAPE. Delta Force operative Caleb Stone will never forget the hatred shining in Lana’s eyes. Ordered to take down the Swarm by infiltrating its ranks, Caleb couldn’t blow his cover to save her–no matter how much it haunted him. It’s more powerful than ever and hell-bent on revenge…NO CONTROL.

My Review

I liked the suspense in this one and there was good tension between Caleb and Lana. Caleb and Lana were an interesting couple considering their history, which is truly tragic. Lana understands the situation Caleb was in and that he couldn’t intervene but she still has a hard time being around him because it brings her attack to the foreground. Caleb has a tremendous amount of guilt over what happened to Lana and sitting by her bedside while she recovered has compounded his feelings for her. He doesn’t want her to be hurt and he desperately wants to help her but she’s stubborn. The tension over their past and how they are coming to trust each other lasts throughout the book and keeps plenty of tension in the story.

I got pretty annoyed with Lana and her determination to keep her secret, because half way through the book it seemed like her secret was actually making things worse. The only thing I can say, is that she has been living in crisis mode ever since her attack so maybe that’s why she can’t think straight. I can understand Lana keeping her secret in the beginning, she’s trying to protect herself and her family, but once her past shows up and things start happening, it’s obvious that whether she keeps her secret or not she’s still being hunted. However, sharing her secret with Caleb would actually help her.

**Reader Safety: Heroine was kidnapped and tortured in the past (referenced, some flashbacks)

3 stars – it was good
